Mak 902 Distillery and Winery

What is Makgeolli

Makgeolli is a traditional Korean rice wine, naturally fermented and unfiltered. It is lightly sweet, gently tangy, and softly sparkling, with a smooth, milky appearance and a refreshing finish.

At Mak 902, we craft makgeolli in small batches using traditional fermentation methods, resulting in a living beverage that evolves in flavour and texture as it is poured fresh from the tap.

It is best experienced young, chilled, and shared—where its natural character is brightest and most expressive.

Our Korean Rice Wines

Makgeolli

A naturally fermented, unfiltered Korean rice wine with a delicate effervescence. Soft and refined, it offers gentle sweetness with subtle rice and cultured notes, balanced by a clean, refreshing finish. Served on tap, it evolves in the glass—starting smooth and lightly cloudy, then opening into a brighter, more expressive sparkle as carbonation lifts. A living, artisanal beverage.

Origianl

Lightly sparkling traditional Korean rice wine with a soft, milky body. Gentle sweetness with subtle notes of rice and yogurt, finishing clean and refreshing.

Cherry

sold out

Bright and fruit-forward with juicy cherry aromatics. A soft tartness balances the natural sweetness of rice, creating a smooth, easy-drinking finish with a hint of red fruit candy character.

Strawberry

Fresh, ripe strawberry notes lead this vibrant expression. Creamy rice texture meets soft berry sweetness for a light, playful profile with a clean, slightly tangy finish.

Haskap

A uniquely Canadian berry expression with deep blueberry-blackberry-like character and natural tartness. Earthy fruit tones layer beautifully over the creamy rice base for a bold yet balanced sip.

Bourbon Orange

sold out

Zesty orange peel and citrus oils layered with soft bourbon barrel-inspired warmth. Hints of vanilla, oak, and caramel meet bright citrus for a rich but refreshing hybrid profile.

Lemon and Sage

Crisp lemon brightness up front with a herbal sage backbone. Light, aromatic, and refreshing—this expression is dry-leaning with a clean citrus-herb finish that feels modern and refined.
